Both companies offer similar mobile but their target is different. Android or iPhone do we choose as our personality?

Android and iPhone , the two major brands of phones  that dominate the world market, aimed at different consumer segments. Now, a new research conducted by psychologists at the University of Lincoln, Lancaster and Hertfordshire (UK) shows the personality differences between the two users.

For the study, researchers counted 500 participants had to answer a set of questions about themselves and their attitude towards their mobile. One of the first findings was that iPhone users are more than twice as likely to be women.

In addition, iPhone users are more your mobile as an object that evokes social status, and Android users are less concerned about the fact that your smartphone so many people possess that is the choice for most of them.

Major personality differences between iPhone users and Android

The study found key differences in personality: the iPhone users show lower levels of honesty and humility and higher levels of emotionality. They were also more outgoing than Android users.

In contrast, Android users were more likely to be male, older and less interested in social status. As for personality , owners of Android devices showed more honesty and convenience and were less likely to break the rules for personal gain.

With these results, experts designed and tested one software designed to predict the type of user by mobile phone: the program predicted the type of mobile user above chance levels.

“In this study, we demonstrate for the first time that the choice of an individual operating system of a smartphone can provide useful in predicting their personality and other individual characteristics tracks , ”

The findings have been published in the journal Cyberpsychology, Behavior, and Social Networking.
